Friendships can be measured in many ways – shared experiences, trust, laughter… and sometimes, a well-timed push in the right direction.
Back in 2016, one of my close friends — someone I’d known since university — gave me exactly that. He was running Siamko Group, his family’s truck transport business, and asked if I could help rebrand it. The brief was simple but meaningful: new logo, new website, new identity — just keep the family name.
It was an exciting challenge. I had been freelancing for a while, but this project felt different — bigger, more personal. So I threw myself into it.
Fun fact: the Siamko logo was the very first logo I ever designed. (For the record, I’m not a graphic designer — but that didn’t stop me.)
After rounds of ideas, meetings, and presentations, I proudly presented the new branding. My friend nodded, smiled, and said something that would change the course of my career:
“Register a company if you want to get paid.”
It wasn’t just business advice — it was an act of friendship and belief. He saw potential in me before I fully saw it myself.
So I did. I registered my business. And that moment became the true beginning of what would eventually grow into The Social Formula.
Sometimes, success doesn’t start with a grand plan — it starts with a friend who believes in you enough to challenge you. And for that, I’ll always be grateful.
